[OpenSPIM] Calibration using the target grid and mirror?

Hello everyone,
>From the wiki there is a method for calibration of the light sheet using a
grid (from a micrometer slide) and mirror attached to a syringe. We have
been having some trouble with calibration in our prototype OpenSPIM system
and we have a few questions.
1. How did others extract the small grid from the calibration slide? How
was it attached to the calibration sample holder (syringe)?
2. Is the system calibrated every time before use or is it calibrated less
frequently? If it is calibrated often, how do you ensure that the grid is
stable for each position and it doesn't move ("wobble around") in the
chamber during the calibration?
Would anyone have any advice about this?
Thank you,
Kathleen
