[OpenSPIM] Lightsheet Microscopy position at Monash University

Monash Micro Imaging, a core Optical Imaging Facility at Monash University,
has established a new Technical Research Officer position to develop
lightsheet microscopy at its Clayton campus in Melbourne, Australia.  The
role will be responsible for LightSheet Microscopy, including SPIM and the
newly developed Lattice LightSheet Microscope, to be commissioned later
this year. The Technical Research Officer will manage and operate the
instruments, develop and optimise imaging protocols and research
applications, train users and take part in collaborative research with
scientists in the biomedical and life sciences. This is a great opportunity
to work in a dymanic imaging group and to contribute to world class science
in the areas of cell signalling, cancer research, host-pathogen
interactions, stem cells and regenerative medicine, cell and developmental
biology, using cell lines, embryos and zebrafish/drosophila models.

*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS *
•    a PhD in biology/science/engineering with extensive experience in
optical microscopy or equivalent combination of relevant experience and
skills
•    extensive experience and high level skills in optical fluorescence
microscopy using Lightsheet modalities
•    expertise in morphological and/or functional analysis using
fluorescence imaging and quantitative image analysis
•    experience in managing instruments, including responsibility for
technical correspondence with manufacturers.

*Employment Type*     Full-time

*Duration*     Two year fixed-term appointment
*(Start date:  1 October 2015).*

*Remuneration*     $84,888 - $93,107 pa HEW Level 07
(includes 9.50% employer superannuation)
