Sorry, I do not quite understand: do you try to install the dev env
anywhere else than something like C:\openspim-dev-env\ ? Or do you try to
install it to something like \\my-other-machine\openspim-dev-env\ ? The
latter is not something I would expect to work.
Or is your desktop on a network drive that is not mapped to a drive
letter?

Again, I do not understand... what is installed in ~/Git/? The
micro-manager source? (That is what the script -- if you are referring to
openspim.sh, that is -- is supposed to check out, and it probably relies
on the current working directory being / -- i.e. the root directory of the
development environment)

I would really love to come up with a new dev-env installer for you to
test, but I do not understand the problems, so I cannot attempt a solution
:-(
