Hi Johannes and Luke,
sorry for my mutism; I was mostly on the roads the last week.
I have tested the tailored openspim.sh script and it indeed leads to many more things happening: cloning of the repositories and initiating the build. In principle it is all good.
What does not seem to work: creating the shortcut to the Dev env on the network
It always install in ~/Git/ not where one specifies, but this could be due to me executing the script by hand, not putting it in etc/profile.d/
Once you have a new dev-env installer, I'd be happy to beta-test it for you on Windows7.
With my best regards,
Alexis

Thankfully, tclsh is included in our msysGit package, so it should work on just about any version of Windows. Have you had a chance to test it on your Windows 7 machine? (The more people with different hardware and software configurations we have testing these things, the more support we'll be able to offer!)
