[OpenSPIM] which C-mount adapter

Dear All,

I wanted to ask why there is a choice of two different C-mount adapters, 
one is 1x and the other 0.5x magnifying?

Does this have anything to do with matching the microscope resolution 
with the pixel size of the used camera?

Or is the 0.5x magnifying one used to increase the field of view?
