[OpenSPIM] light sheet characterization in solvents (BABB etc)

Hi,

I know that most people here use samples in water, but I don't know where
else to ask, so:

have you ever tried to characterize the light sheet thickness not in
water, but BABB (or other solvent)? Will it damage a silver mirror? Is
there any other way?

We prepared an agarose sample with fluorescent beads and dehydrated it
like in this paper:
https://www.jove.com/video/50696/micron-scale-resolution-optical-tomography-entire-mouse-brains-with

and the agarose stayed in one piece, but there is very little signal, so
I'm afraid that the beads might have dissolved.

Regards,
