Dear Michael,
in the bginning I also had the problem of belt slipping. At least I was
believing that the belt slips. Later I learned that the belt tesion was
to high and the bearing was hard-steering. This results during the
operation of the twister stepping motor in a loss of steps. Loss of
steps or slipping has the same effect, the twister does not turn to the
expected angle. We solved this issue by exchanging the bearing with a
smooth running one and by a LONGER belt producing lower tension and
thereby lower friction in the bearings of the motor and the sample holder.

I don't know if this helps to solve your problem but eventually this
could help others. At least here in Munich it worked.

Best regards

Hartmann
