[OpenSPIM] 4D imaging software

Dear all,
Our group is thinking about purchasing a license for a commercial 4D
imaging software in addition to Fiji and its plugins.

We are planning to mainly use it for reslicing our SPIM z-stacks in
arbitrary angles to achieve e.g. midsagital cross-sections. This would
be difficult (if possible at all) with Fiji, amongst others because our
samples rotate.

We might also want to do measurements (distances, surface area,
volume,…) and track developing cells or swimming organisms over time.

Therefore we wanted to ask, which software everybody else is using
(apart from Fiji) to visualize and process your SPIM data and what
experiences you made with it?

We are currently trying demo versions for Volocity (Perkin Elmers),
Imaris (BitPlane) and Amira (FEI Visualization Sciences Group). They all
seem to have their advantages and disadvantages.

So, we would be very grateful if you could tell us, if you have any
experiences with these or other 4D software solutions and what would be
your recommendations.

I couldn’t find anything on that in the mailing list’s archive. Sorry,
if I simply overlooked it.

Thank you very much in advance.

Best wishes,

Stephanie
