[OpenSPIM] [micro-manager-general] Picard stage

Hi Angela et al:

As I've mentioned on the OpenSPIM mailing list, I'm currently in the process of synchronizing our version of Micro-Manager with the latest source code changes (to pull in the VS2012 updates and new build process). Thankfully, this is nearly complete; I expect to be finished in a few days. At that point, I'll update the version of the code we have on our Fiji update site; if you're using the OpenSPIM package (downloaded from our wiki), you should only need to update Fiji to get the latest version of Micro-Manager and the PicardStage adapter.

Once that's complete, I'm hoping to simplify our source code quite a bit, so we can submit our device adapter to the Micro-Manager repository as Nico suggested; this way the device adapter will be included in the new builds of Micro-Manager, and so you'll need only download new versions of Micro-Manager as they are released. I'm hesitant to put an exact timeline on this step, but ideally it will happen within a week or two.

In the mean time, you shouldn't have any trouble using our device adapter provided through our Fiji distribution. (If you are using the 32-bit version of Micro-Manager, it may also work to copy "mmgr_dal_PicardStage.dll" and "PiUsb.dll" from our mm/win32 directory to Micro-Manager's directory in Program Files.)

Thanks,
Luke Stuyvenberg

It is not in our repository and I do not think that it was ever part of a Micro-Manager distribution. You can ask them to contribute the code to the Micro-Manager repository so that it will be incorporated in future builds.
