<DIV>I routinely use a Zebra Mildliner highlighter dipped in water to give micron-scale fluorescent blobs that diffuse randomly like beads. I have yet to find a Zebra Mildliner variety that doesn't have this useful property (most highlighter pens just give a uniform dye, and sometimes it is very tough to wash out, unlike f<FONT size=2 face="Segoe UI">luorescein</FONT>). I'm usually using 488nm; once I tried at 640nm and it was pretty dim but maybe choosing another color would have solved the problem (I haven't investigated relative signal from different colors of the Zebra Mildliner).</DIV>
