The 4-lens system requires a second detection arm, including another camera, which is one of the most expensive components of the setup. The main advantage of the 4-lens system is the ability to record the back side of the sample right after the front side without rotation. When the two cameras are well aligned, both views are automatically registered. This pays off when you want to process the data in realtime [Schmid, 2013; Krzic, 2012].
