As soon as you use medium containing salt (fish medium, PBS etc.) the surface will oxidize sooner or later and you will run into problems. You can coat/paint/anodize the aluminum but this will not last forever. The best would be to use stainless steel like in the Zeiss Lightsheet Z1, but at least our workshop has no suitable machines to build a chamber from stainless steel. If you want to use a peltier or a similar device I would try to build a "two component" chamber: a thin-walled plastic chamber, enclosed by an aluminum "cage" on the outside. Another possibility is to use a all-plastic chamber with an external perfusion system, that's how I do it.
